Download and Install the 3CX Windows Desktop App

For all 3CX v18 installs, the recommended client to use is the standalone Windows Desktop App. This not only has a number of performance enhancements, but allows users to use any web browser they like regardless of the webclient compatibility as 3CX now works outside of any web browser. 

To install the 3CX Desktop App for Windows, follow the following steps.

1. Navigate to your webclient in a browser and log into your webclient.



2. (OPTIONAL) Click the Blue Bell icon in the top left corner below your profile avatar. Select allow in the prompt that pops up. The bell icon will now disappear.



3. Select the Blue Windows Icon also in the top left corner below your profile avatar. Select Install on the prompt that pops up.



4. Open the downloaded .msi file and wait for the installation to complete. You may be prompted to adjust your computer's firewall settings. Check the boxes to allow 3CX on Private and Public networks and click "Allow Access"



5. Return to the webclient and select the "Provision" button on the pop up. This will prompt you to open the new 3CX Desktop App at which point, click "Open 3CX Desktop App".



6. The 3CX Desktop App will now be provisioned and ready to use. You will see the standalone application looks identical to the browser webclient, but in fact functions independent of the browser, with all the same great features.
